Josh Tyler
A leading expert in the Soccer Recruitment Process, leverages his extensive experience and passion as Rush Soccer’s Global Director of the College Advisory Program (CAP).
A seasoned leader with over 30 years in the sport, his successful coaching career across various levels boasts achievements like regional and national championships, alongside a proven track record of nurturing talented players. Committed to student-athletes, Tyler possesses a deep understanding of the complexities of college soccer recruitment, guiding young athletes through navigating scholarships, academics, and athletic opportunities.
Driven by a desire to empower players to reach their full potential on and off the field, his expertise extends to hosting the #1 Soccer Recruitment Podcast, CAP Chat, alongside co-author Tyler Tomlinson.
Steve Axtell
Axtell brings a well rounded approach to the college recruiting landscape through many different experiences and positions throughout the soccer landscape in this country.
His current positions include the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at SUNY Cortland, a Diploma Manager and Course Instructor for the United Soccer Coaches Association, a Regional College Advisory Director for Rush Soccer, and Owner/Director of both OnePlus Performance and NYid Camps, the latter being one the largest ID Camp series in the country.
He has previously worked for various non-profits in many different roles including President of three different youth soccer organizations. He also runs coaching education across Central New York State and operates grassroots soccer programs for kids through various community recreation departments. Axtell has both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Science from SUNY Cortland.
Tyler Tomlinson
Tyler Tomlinson is a multi-faceted professional who leverages his passion for soccer and communication to empower young athletes. As the West Region CAP Director for Rush Soccer, he guides and supports players across the Western United States, helping them navigate the college soccer recruitment process.
Beyond his leadership role at Rush, Tomlinson is known for co-hosting CAP Chat, the #1 Soccer Recruitment Podcast in the US. Partnering with Josh Tyler, he provides valuable insights and strategies for aspiring college soccer players.
Tomlinson’s dedication extends to the field as well. He holds the title of Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Culver-Stockton College, where he has established himself as the program’s all-time winningest coach.
This combination of soccer expertise, communication skills, and educational background allows Tyler Tomlinson to be a true leader and advocate for aspiring student-athletes.
